WIESBADEN - In the Thuringian city of Jena, the proportion of fathers receiving parental allowance for children born in 2014 amounted to 57.8%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that Jena replaced the Bavarian Main-Spessart rural district at the top of the list, which had the sixth-highest participation rate of fathers (49.5%). In all of Germany, the participation rate of fathers averaged 34.2% and that of mothers approximately 95.9%.
