WIESBADEN – The United Kingdom's exit from the European Union (EU) will be a topic for discussion on Europe Day celebrated on 9 May. The United Kingdom is the second important sales market for German exporters among the EU Member States. According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), Germany exported goods worth 707.7 billion euros to the EU Member States in 2016. 12.2% of the German exports to the EU countries went to the United Kingdom. More German goods were only exported to France in 2016 (14.3%).
