WIESBADEN – The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 2.5% in October 2018.That would be the highest growth rate since September 2008 (+2.8%). Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices are expected to increase by 0.2% on September 2018.

In October 2018, the harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to increase by 2.4% year on year and 0.1% on September 2018.
The final results for October 2018 will be released on 13 November 2018.
