WIESBADEN – 69% of mothers in employment and 6% of fathers in employment with minor children in Germany worked part-time in 2017. The parents' family form plays a major role here. To coincide with the Working Parents Day on 16 September, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that among lone mothers the proportion was 58%. Mothers living in a partnership worked part-time much more often (71%). In contrast, 12% of lone fathers and 6% of fathers living in a partnership worked part-time.
