WIESBADEN – In 2017, 762,343 women gave birth in a hospital in Germany. Their number was slightly higher than in 2016 (761,777). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the proportion of hospital deliveries by Caesarean section was 30.5% in 2017. The Caesarean rate remained unchanged from the previous year.
