WIESBADEN – On the basis of provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that a total of 38.3 million tonnes of waste were collected from households in 2017. This was an increase of 0.2 million tonnes compared with 2016. Due to the population growth, the per capita volume of household waste was unchanged from the previous year (462 kilograms).
