WIESBADEN – The index of real earnings in Germany rose by 1.0% in 2018 compared with one year earlier. Based on provisional results of the quarterly survey of earnings, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that nominal earnings in 2018 increased by roughly 3.0% year on year. Consumer prices rose 1.9% in the same period.
On average, employees received an additional 1.1% of real earnings annually in the last 10 years.
