Women accounted again for 39% of the academic staff
WIESBADEN - Approximately 400,100 people were employed as academic staff at German institutions of higher education or university clinics at the end of 2018. Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of 1.3% compared with the end of 2017. The number of women among the academic staff rose to 156,700 (+2.0%) year on year. Women accounted for 39% of the total academic staff, as in the previous two years.
