WIESBADEN – The index of real earnings in Germany rose by an average of 1.2% in 2019 compared with a year earlier. Based on provisional results of the quarterly survey of earnings, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that nominal earnings in 2019 increased by 2.6% year on year.. Consumer prices rose by 1.4% in the same period.
