WIESBADEN - The impact of the new coronavirus on China’s economy has brought Germany’s trade relations with the People’s Republic of China into the public focus. China is very important regarding imports of both producer and consumer goods. In 2019, China was Germany’s most important trading partner for the fourth year in a row. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that goods to the value of 205.7 billion euros were traded between the two countries.
The Netherlands ranked second among the most important trading partners with a foreign trade turnover of 190.4 billion euros, followed by the United States in third place with 190.1 billion euros.
