WIESBADEN – Roughly 1.9 million women and men in Germany received parental allowance in 2019. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the number of recipients was up 2.0% compared with 2018. While the number of women receiving parental allowance increased by 0.9% to 1.41 million, the number of men rose by 5.3% to roughly 456,000.
