WIESBADEN – Following the decision taken by the Federation and the Länder on 15 April 2020 to reopen schools with certain restrictions, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) estimates that approximately 2.6 million pupils will return to schools of general education in the next few weeks. Schooling will restart with grades which are to sit final examinations this school year or the school year to come and with the upper grades of primary school.
