WIESBADEN - After the coronavirus lockdown, hairdressing shops may reopen on 4 May 2020. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that 240,000 people worked in the hairdressing sector in Germany in 2017. They achieved a turnover of roughly 6.7 billion euros. The average turnover per persons engaged in this sector amounted to over 28,000 euros per year.
Compared with other crafts with compulsory approval (average turnover of about 126,000 euros per employed person), hairdressers were at the bottom of the respective scale.
