WIESBADEN – The Federation, Länder and municipalities spent 54.9 billion euros on services and tasks of public children and youth welfare in 2019. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that expenditure more than doubled in the last 10 years (2009: 26.9 billion euros). Receipts - including charges and attendance fees - rose by over a third from 2.6 billion euros in 2009 to 3.5 billion euros in 2019.
