WIESBADEN – Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the current restrictions to contain new infections, many people in Germany spent the Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve 2020 in a different way than usual. A special evaluation of experimental mobility data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) shows that regulations and recommendations to reduce contacts strongly changed people’s behaviour at Christmas and on New Year’s Eve.
