Press release No. 050 of 4 February 2021
WIESBADEN – Mobility in Germany increased in the second half of January 2021 (weeks 3 and 4 from 18 to 31 January) compared with the first half of the month. However, mobility (national average) in week 3 was 11.5% and in week 4 10.6% below the pre-crisis level of January 2019. Nonetheless, it was higher than in week 1 and week 2 of the new year when mobility declined by 19.1% and 13.6%, respectively, compared with January 2019. This was shown by an ad hoc evaluation of experimental data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
