WIESBADEN – In February 2021, a total of 128 people died in road traffic accidents in Germany. This was a decrease of 63 people compared with February 2020. The number of road traffic accident fatalities in February 2021 was the lowest ever recorded in a month since German reunification. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the number of people injured decreased by 30% to roughly 16,400 year on year, after it had reached its lowest level since German reunification (14,900) in January 2021.
