Turnover in accommodation and food services, June 2021 (provisional results)
+61.7%, in real terms, on the previous month (calendar and seasonally adjusted)
+63.9%, in nominal terms, on the previous month (calendar and seasonally adjusted)
-0.8%, in real terms, on the same month a year earlier
+3.4%, in nominal terms, on the same month a year earlier
WIESBADEN - In June 2021, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services increased by a real (price adjusted) 61.7% and a nominal (not price adjusted) 63.9% compared with May 2021. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the relevant establishments profited from the gradual easing of the coronavirus restrictions in accommodation and food services in June 2021. However, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover was still 40.7%, in real terms, below the pre-crisis level of February 2020, and it was slightly down, on a real basis, compared with June 2020 (-0.8%).
