WIESBADEN – In 2019, 448,000 people in Germany achieved their first tertiary education degree. This includes higher education degrees and advanced vocationally oriented qualifications. To mark the publication of the report "International education indicators in a comparison across the Länder – Edition 2021" (German only), the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 46% of an age cohort in Germany achieved their first tertiary education degree. The graduation rate mainly relates to young people aged 21 to 29 years.
