WIESBADEN – According to national accounting results, total expenditure of the Federation at current prices increased by 55.9% in 2005 to 2020, from 325.9 to 508.2 billion euros. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the revenue of the Federation as defined in national accounting rose by 51.0% over the same period, from 279.3 to 421.7 billion euros. The development of consumer prices, which rose by 22.7% in the respective period, has to be taken into account when the increase of revenue and expenditure at current prices is considered.
