WIESBADEN – Producer prices of agricultural products were 22.1% higher in December 2021 than in December 2020. This has been the strongest year-on-year increase in prices since July 2011. Compared with November 2021, the prices were up by 1.3%. The prices of plant products rose particularly strongly on the same month of the preceding year according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). They were 28.8% higher in December 2021 than in December 2020. The prices of animal products increased as well and were up 17.4% year on year.
