- A total of 7.6 billion litres of drinking milk produced for sale

WIESBADEN – The production of drinking milk of animal origin has decreased in Germany. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that 7.6 billion litres of drinking milk were produced for sale in Germany in 2021. This was the lowest figure since 2002. The quantity produced for sale declined by as much as 7.1% from the previous year. In 2020, a quantity of just under 8.2 billion litres was recorded. In 2003, 8.9 billion litres were produced.
