WIESBADEN – Producer prices of agricultural products were 39.9% higher in April 2022 than in April 2021. This is the highest rise in prices compared with the same month a year earlier since the survey was first conducted in 1961. The rate of change (+34.7%) measured in March 2022 had already been a record increase. Compared with the previous month, prices rose by 5.6%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the prices of both plant products and animal products recorded significant increases from the same month a year earlier (+45.7% and +35.8%, respectively).
