- Federal Statistical Office for the first time releases statistics on economic activity of German enterprise groups operating multinationally
- 387 enterprise groups had just under 50,000 subsidiaries in 2018 and achieved annual earnings of just under 360 billion euros before taxes
WIESBADEN – German enterprise groups operating multinationally generated worldwide earnings before taxes totalling 360 billion euros in 2018. This is shown by an evaluation of country-by-country reports of enterprise groups published by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) for the first time.
For 2018, the reports from 387 German enterprise groups obliged to provide information were evaluated. These enterprise groups had 15,714 subsidiaries in Germany and another 33,742 subsidiaries worldwide.
