WIESBADEN – In July 2022, 321 people were killed in road traffic accidents in Germany. Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that 44 people more were killed than in July 2021. The number of people injured increased by 5% to 36,600 in July 2022 year on year. The number of traffic accident fatalities rose by 51 on July 2019, the relevant month before the Covid pandemic. The number of people injured fell by 2%.
