WIESBADEN – How much money do people in Germany spend on what? How is their expenditure on food, housing, transport and other things distributed? Answers to the above and other questions are provided by the sample survey of income and expenditure. Under the motto “Wo bleibt mein Geld?” (Where does my money go?), the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in cooperation with the statistical offices of the Länder, will conduct the next sample survey of income and expenditure from January to December 2023. Roughly 80,000 households are to be recruited for participation in the largest voluntary survey of official statistics. They will receive a financial reward of at least 100 euros as a thank you.

Interested households may register now for the three-month survey to be conducted in 2023 under the motto “Wo bleibt mein Geld?” (Where does my money go?) at www.evs2023.de/teilnahme (only in german).
