- Gas and oil imports accounted for 92.2% of total imports from Russia in Bayern and for 98.6% in Brandenburg, while in Nordrhein-Westfalen the percentage was just 15.3%
- Just under one third of exports to Russia were no goods made in Germany
- Pharmaceutical products and machinery were the most important goods exported to Russia
WIESBADEN – From January to September 2022, most goods imported from Russia to Germany went to Bayern. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that more than one fifth (22.0% of goods imported from Russia to a value of 6.6 billion euros) of all imports from Russia went to Bayern. In this comparison across Länder, Bayern was followed by Brandenburg with a percentage of 14.2% (4.2 billion euros) and Nordrhein-Westfalen with 11.7% (3.5 billion euros).
