Turnover in accommodation and food services, October 2022 (provisional results, calendar and seasonally adjusted)

WIESBADEN - In October 2022, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services decreased by a real (price adjusted) 0.1% and remained unchanged in nominal terms (not price adjusted) compared with September 2022. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that turnover was a real 12.3% and a nominal 22.5% higher than in October 2021. The strong price increases seen for food and energy thus influenced prices of accommodation and food services also in October. The large difference between real and nominal results is reflected also by comparison with the pre-crisis level. Turnover in accommodation and food services was a real 9.3% lower but a nominal 5.5% higher in October 2022 than in October 2019.
