WIESBADEN – In the time before Christmas, post and parcel deliverers are particularly busy. The continuing boom in e-commerce has also contributed to the significant growth of demand for parcel industry services and of the relevant turnover. The increase in earnings was comparatively small in the last ten years. Full-time employees of postal and courier services on average had gross monthly earnings of 3,022 euros (not price adjusted) in 2021, which was 6% more than ten years earlier. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the average gross earnings amounted to 2,851 euros per month in 2011. For comparison: in the economy as a whole, earnings (not price adjusted) grew by 23.8% in the same period, and consumer prices rose by 14.6%.
