WIESBADEN – Almost 12.1 billion eggs were produced in 2017 by holdings in Germany which had at least 3,000 places for laying hens. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a 0.9% increase on 2016. In the previous year, the number of eggs produced had increased by 1.5%.
