WIESBADEN – As at the reference date of 3 May 2018, roughly 26.9 million pigs were kept in Germany. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a decrease in the number of pigs of approximately 690,000, or 2.5%, following an increase of 1.5% in November 2017.
