WIESBADEN – In 2018 full-time male employees worked the longest hours per week (49.9) in agriculture, forestry and fishing, while they worked the shortest hours in manufacturing (40.4). The same applied to full-time female employees, though at a lower level: the time they worked per week ranged between 45.3 hours and 39.6 hours. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that part-time employees worked between 15.4 and 22.7 hours per week, depending on the economic branch.
