• Imports rose 15% from 2017 to 2019
• Almost 10% of foreign-controlled enterprises in Germany have parent companies in the USA

WIESBADEN – The United States of America remained the most important importing country for German goods in the last three years. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that German exports to the USA rose 6% since 2017. Last year, Germany exported goods to the value of 118.7 billion euros to the United States. The value thus was even higher than in the preceding two years (2018: 113.3 billion euros; 2017: 111.8 billion euros). Total German exports increased by 3.8% from 2017 to 2019.
