WIESBADEN – In November 2020, the construction price index for conventionally constructed new residential buildings (construction work performed at the building; including turnover tax) in Germany went down 0.1% compared with November 2019, especially because of the lowered turnover tax rate. In August 2020, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the price index stagnated compared with a year earlier. In comparison with August 2020, the price index for residential buildings rose by 0.4% in November 2020.
As far as non-residential buildings were concerned, the price index for office buildings went down 0.1% in November 2020 compared with November 2019. The price index for industrial buildings went down by 0.2%. The price index relating to road construction went down by 1.3% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.
