WIESBADEN – An increasing number of people in Germany use online banking, for instance, to check their account or transfer money. Based on results of the survey of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in households, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 56% of the population used online banking for private purposes in the first quarter of 2020. In the preceding year, the relevant proportion was 53%, in 2010 it amounted to 37%.
