- Number of requests for normal insolvency proceedings in November 2021 up 43.8% on the previous month, according to provisional figures
- Consumer insolvencies from January to September 2021 up 74.9% compared with the same period a year ago
WIESBADEN – German local courts reported 10,682 business insolvency requests from January to September 2021. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a decline of 14.5% compared with the same period of 2020 and of 25.7% compared with 2019. The last months’ downward trend continued also when many special regulations no longer applied, such as the suspension of the obligation for overindebted businesses to file for insolvency.
