WIESBADEN – At the end of 2019, roughly 385,000 people in Germany received standard benefits in accordance with the Act on Benefits for Asylum Seekers (AsylbLG). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a 6% decline on 2018 (411,000 people). The number of recipients declined for the fourth year in a row after the all-time high of 2015 (975,000 people).
